Executive Team
Joseph Laezza: President and CEO
Mr. Laezza was appointed CEO in July 2010. He joined Glowpoint in 2004 to focus on operations and later became COO in 2006. He eventually became Glowpoint's president in 2008 and co-CEO in 2009.
He has more than 17 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and has held various executive management positions. He is a business executive with broad experience in operations, sales and marketing, and financial management - with direct experience in high-profile sales, marketing strategies, and operations.
Prior to joining Glowpoint, he served as vice president of operations at Con Edison Communications in New York City, where he was responsible for the company's network operations, including service delivery and deployment. Prior, he held management positions at a number of telecommunications service providers, including AT&T and XO Communications where he was responsible for operations, service delivery, and customer service efforts.
Mr. Laezza has completed undergraduate studies in telecom management at Denver University, and management courses at the USC Center for Telecom Management.
Edwin Heinen: Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Finance
Mr. Heinen joined Glowpoint in 2005 and is currently Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Finance. He has more than 25 years of financial experience in public and private companies, most recently as the Chief Financial Officer for Communications Network Enhancement, an audio conferencing company. Mr. Heinen obtained a CPA while working for Deloitte & Touche. He has a BS from Cornell University and an MBA from the University of Detroit.
Anil Balani: Senior Vice President, Product Development
Anil Balani joined Glowpoint as senior vice president of product development in 2010 to oversee all aspects of R&D and product management and engineering, with a key focus on advancing Glowpoint's telepresence and video cloud computing portfolio.
Mr. Balani's has more than 17 years of experience in convergent technologies, voice over IP, and video over IP, at both large and startup ventures. He has held several leadership roles in product and software development, and also architecture and engineering at: UTC Associates, Global Crossing, AT&T/Teleport Communications Group, and Texas Instruments. In addition, he has been involved with: developing mobility and collaborative applications, building a nationwide IP network, launching one of the first integrated voice-and-data services, and developing crucial defense applications. Mr. Balani has also founded several companies including: Vonair, Netria Systems (a Broadsoft joint venture), and Coreon.
Mr. Balani earned his B.S. from New York University, his B.E.E. from Cooper Union, his M.S. and M.S.E.E. from Southern Methodist University, and his M.B.A. from University of Dallas.
Shane Bouslough: Vice President, Information Systems & Technology
Mr. Bouslough joined Glowpoint in 2010 as Vice President, Information Systems & Technology where he brings over 20 years of experience in the development and management of enterprise class information systems. Throughout his career, he has successfully managed the construction and operation of such critical systems such as IVR, OSS/BSS, CDR mediation, and trouble ticket applications. His role at Glowpoint is to advance the company's information system development and operational initiatives.
Prior to joining Glowpoint, Mr. Bouslough held senior engineering and management positions at Periphonics Corporation and InfoHighway Communications. Additionally, Mr. Bouslough founded a successful Long Island based Internet Service Provider.
Mr. Bouslough obtained his B.S. in Computer Science from NYIT and his M.S. in Computer Science from SUNY Stony Brook.
Jonathan Brust: Vice President, Marketing
Jonathan Brust brings more than 20 years of senior management and marketing expertise to his role at Glowpoint, where he leads all branding and marketing efforts. Additionally, he is responsible for building and managing business development/co-marketing relationships and expanding business opportunities.
Prior to Glowpoint, he held senior positions in Marketing and Sales in the video industry, most recently with New York-based The FeedRoom and VIDITalk, Inc. Mr. Brust also founded and served as Chief Executive of SwingCam, Inc., a video analysis company focused in the sports industry and spent 8 years in hotel management.
Lou Chiorazzi: Vice President, Engineering
Mr. Chiorazzi has more than 17 years of experience in Engineering, Operations, Sales, and Consulting services. In 2001, he joined Glowpoint during its initial founding and was instrumental in building the world's first video-centric IP network. He leads the Engineering and Development functions at Glowpoint with a team of technical professionals who have played key roles in achieving strategic high profile sales, significant cost reductions, and build award winning, scalable technology platforms and solutions in the video communications marketplace. He is directly responsible for Research & Development, Software Development, Pre-Sales Engineering Solutions, Post Sale Complex Engineering and Corporate IT efforts.
Prior to joining Glowpoint, he most recently held a position at Cisco Systems providing regional sales support for Content Delivery Network Sales. Prior to this, he provided consulting services for high profile clients of Lucent/INS and the Johns Brook Company. He began his career with Knight Ridder Financial/Bridge as a Senior Engineer in their main NOC in New York City.
Martin Monson: Vice President, Business Development
Mr. Monson has more than 18 years of telecommunications industry experience with 14 years focused on video communications. He joined Glowpoint in 2000 opening the Midwest sales region, in 2003, Mr. Monson was part of the team that developed the channel sales division of Glowpoint, as Director of Channels Sales and then appointed VP of Sales & Business Development in 2008.
Prior to joining Glowpoint, he held various branch sales, service and technical positions at MCI Telecommunications and held corporate positions at MCI's National Service and Training center in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Monson earned his BA from Luther College, and is an active Board Member on various non-Profit organizations in the Minneapolis / St Paul area.
Thomas P. Schroeder: Vice President, Operations
Mr. Schroeder has more than 14 years experience in the telecommunications service industry and has held various technical and managerial positions in the Voice, Data and Video communication sectors. He joined Glowpoint in 2005 and was appointed to Vice President of Operations in 2008, where he is currently responsible for the day to day operation of Glowpoint's video products and services. He is a performance driven leader and a critical contributor on the management team, with a proven track record of achieving and exceeding the operational metrics supporting operations, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
Prior to joining Glowpoint, he spent five years with Con Edison Communications (now RCN Metro) as Managing Director of Customer Operations, where he served as one of the subsidiary's founding members and successfully built a service organization focused on the delivery of data services. Mr. Schroeder has also held positions at NEON Communications (Now RCN Metro), XO Communications & Teleport Communications Group (now AT&T Local Services). He holds a BSA degree in Economics from West Virginia University and is married with two children.
