Glowpoint Announces Telepresence and Video Conferencing Offering to Assist Businesses during this year's Flu Season Virus
Launches promotion to enable global B2B video communications in keeping with CDC recommendations for business continuity associated with H1N1 "Swine Flu" virus

HILLSIDE, N.J. Sept. 16, 2009 - Glowpoint, Inc. (OTCBB: GLOW), a leading provider of advanced video communications solutions, today announced the launch of a campaign designed to incent organizations to use video communications as an alternative to business travel to minimize the potential disruption from the H1N1 "swine flu" virus throughout the global business community.

Declared a pandemic this past June by the World Health Organization, the swine flu is expected to surge with the return of the fall and winter flu season according to the Associated Press. To assist businesses, Glowpoint's campaign features promotional discounts on telepresence and video conferencing managed services, as well as an educational website (www.glowpoint.com/preventflu.asp) specifying how video communications can be used to mitigate the risk of contracting the flu. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), "if the severity of the outbreak worldwide increases in the fall or winter, public health officials may recommend social distancing strategies which include canceling non-essential travel."

Glowpoint President and co-CEO Joe Laezza said, "We encourage organizations to act now and evaluate the use or expansion of video communications programs in their business practices. Beyond the benefits of avoiding health concerns, video communications help minimize business interruptions, increase productivity, reduce travel costs, and support greener business practices by lowering carbon emissions. And while many organizations may be using video to communicate internally today, now is the time to explore business-to-business (B2B) applications to increase face-time and strengthen relationships with business partners and customers."

Glowpoint's offering will include incentives such as free registration to the world's leading business-to-business video community – the Telepresence interExchange Network (TEN) – as well as promotional discounts of up to 50 percent on inter-business and multi-point (also known as "bridging" or "one-to-many") telepresence and video conferencing services. As an added convenience, the site is equipped with a locater to find reservable Affinity VideoNet telepresence and video conferencing suites in major cities around the world which allow virtual meetings to be arranged even if businesses do not have a video enabled location available within their internal offices. Additional public room resources as well as telepresence and video conference equipment purchase options are expected to become available and will be announced accordingly.
