Leading Electrical Manufacturer Selects Glowpoint for Migration from ISDN to IP
HILLSIDE, N.J. March 22, 2007 –Glowpoint, Inc. (OTC:GLOW.PK), a leading broadcast-quality, IP-based managed video service provider, announced that Leviton Manufacturing Company, Inc., one of the world’s most diversified electrical manufacturing companies, has selected Glowpoint for its migration from ISDN to IP. Leviton has more than 30 facilities dedicated to engineering, manufacturing, and distribution of more than 25,000 products for almost every type of connectivity requirements. The company initially piloted Glowpoint at two locations, and after experiencing a reliable and valuable service, expanded to an additional four locations.
“We initially attempted using video over our internet connections, but had a number of issues,” said Tim Flick, the vice president of engineering at Leviton. “With limited IT resources and a full plate of projects, we wanted to have a fully managed solution, and Glowpoint has proven to have the best solution. With demand increasing for video conferencing at Leviton, we see Glowpoint as key to helping us handle the increased demand.”
“Customers are increasingly aware that supporting video communications is more than just bandwidth,” said Michael Brandofino, president and CEO of Glowpoint. “They are looking for a fully managed solution that includes all aspects of the video application. Glowpoint has proven to be a valued partner with our customers as they develop their video communications strategy. Whether they are still on legacy ISDN, or are pursuing a converged solution, Glowpoint can provide an easy transition as they move to video over IP.”
