Glowpoint Introduces HD-over-IP Broadcast Telepresence Solution at National Association of Broadcasters Show


HILLSIDE, N.J. April 16, 2007 Glowpoint, Inc. (OTC:GLOW.PK) today introduced its High Definition (HD) two-way video-over-IP broadcast telepresence solution, which delivers unparalleled quality and features to broadcasters at a fraction of the cost of traditional content acquisition methods. The service is tailored to meet broadcasters growing demand for access to remotely located talent supplying interviews and commentary that can be distributed live-to-air, via broadband, or recorded for later distribution.

 

The service, unveiled this morning at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) conference in Las Vegas, will be marketed under the name Team-CamHD for sports broadcasting solutions and Remote-CamHD for general news broadcasting solutions. Utilizing only 2 MB of bandwidth, the service enables the unlimited capture of content in HD from fixed remote locations on a 24x7 basis for one monthly fee.

 

Heretofore, this service has been available solely via Standard Definition (SD) solutions, or via satellite or high bandwidth solutions requiring up to 45MB.

 

The Glowpoint HD two-way video-over-IP telepresence solution represents a dramatic shift for the broadcast industry, said CEO Michael Brandofino. No longer subject to expensive satellite or high bandwidth solutions, broadcasters can extend their reach to many more locations, including, in some cases, on-air personalities homes.

 

We currently see significant interest in our solution from eight leading sports broadcasters and various other news-related broadcasters, said Mr. Brandofino, and expect to exploit additional opportunities for the service in 2007.
